History of Guitar

Guitar is a traditional musical instrument so that Spain believed that the strings are from spain. But there is also a saying that the history of the guitar begins long before Christ that is at the time of Babylonia. Initially these instruments are small and have four strings, each of which - each in pairs.

During the Renaissance, the guitar is not a popular musical instrument and not the public interest. But after Alonso Mudarra began to introduce this instrument through their works then immediately people began to be interested in listening to and playing guitar. And at that time the guitar became popular among the community.

In the 17th century or the Baroque period of strings (string) guitar added into each of five pairs, this allows the players to play music that is more complex and extensive.

In the late 17th century, two important changes made in this instrument are:

1. Previously, each string pairs (doubles), it is now replaced by a single string.
2. Previously, it has five strings now added a single 6-string that is used to this day.

Classical period circa 1750-1775 bear many famous composers such as Fernando Sør guitar, Mauro Giuliani, Matteo Carcassi, D. Aguado and Fernando Carulli. They write music and concerts are often held a guitar in various places. At that time the guitar is very popular musical instrument and interest many people.
There's also that in addition to Nicolo Paganini violin players famous guitar player whose works are still frequently heard today.

In the late 19th century guitar instruments decreased and many people are not familiar with this instrument, but then in the back by Francisco Tarrega popularize the classical guitar is a great composer. Many of the works of his music became very popular among others: Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Estudio Brillante, Capricho Arabe and much more.

He also wrote and developed a method / system for teaching guitar and teaching method has become the standard of teaching in classical guitar lessons until now. He is also a lot of teaching and not a few of his students who became great composers like himself of them is Miguel Liobet.
In addition to guitar composers there is also a designer of guitar instrumental in the development of this instrument is Luthier Antonio Torres. He tried to increase the size of a guitar and try to improve the sound of the guitar to be more loud and in harmony.

He was a lot of improvements to the form of a guitar, he makes the guitar's neck is wider and thinner than the previous guitar shape. He also makes the standard strings with length 65 cm, which is still in use. From the results of these experiments then made this guitar is a standard modern guitar which was used until now. In addition to Torres, there was also previously named one which, besides the famous Stradivarius violins are also adept at making a guitar.

In 1946 the string / string guitar that formerly made of Gut (rope made of animal intestines) were replaced with strings made of nylon (nylon string). By using the nylon string sound produced bigger and better.

Guitar musical instrument continues to grow until now and has become an instrument of the world. The number of players, teachers, composers, and guitar makers today are very much, for schools and classes where the guitar is also easily found in every place even now there are also magazines devoted to the guitar. Because the development of science and technology so rapidly, the instrument is also affected guitars and now we have known that his name Electric Guitar (Electric Guitar).

Electric Guitar History

Electric guitar history began in 1930, when a man named George Beauchamp began looking for ways to increase the volume of the guitar. Known if a given wire in a magnetic field force, it can create electrical current. On the basis of this thinking is he researching and conducting an experiment with a phonograph needle (essentially this technology can be found in electric motors, generators, phonograph needles, radio and mic). He believes that if the strings vibrated by the magnetic field will be converted into electrical currents and then converted back into sound waves through speakers.

After the trial for months and worked with Paul Barth is created first a simple pickup consists of 6 poles and each pole for each string. Contains a coiled coil pickups neatly. According to the story, he took it from the washer coil and melilitnya back with a sewing machine motor. This invention greatly appreciated and get a patent.

With this discovery, the next step was to find people who want to work together and help in the matter of funding. He contacted his friend Adolph Rickenbacher had at the National String Instrument Company where he worked. They worked together and formed a company with a name Instrumens Rickenbachers. Eventually they began producing the first electric guitar called "The Frying Pan" (perhaps because of his guitar body is made from the pan). This is what makes their company's written in history as the first factory to make and manufacture electric guitars.

Later a man named Lloyd Loar introduces a model electric guitar Spanish guitar-shaped. He is considered the first to make and market this model guitar. He has carried out many experiments of this began early in 1920 and in 1933 founded the company with the name of Vivi-Tone, which is a subsidiary of the Gibson Company.

This company produces electric guitar with a Spanish guitar company in one year but was unsuccessful. From this failure, eventually inspired the Gibson Company to try to continue to create an electric guitar. Of those businesses which do is created an electric guitar the ES-150 which later became the pioneer of guitar-electric guitar next.

Electric guitar history continued in 1933 when the Alvino Rey who also worked at the Gibson electric guitar pickup company to develop a better shape than the sound quality is also modified.
Behind the success of the ES-150 was found to be flawed, because the hollow body guitars, the vibration of the guitar body also arrested the pickup so it would sound on the amplifier. In addition frequent feedback and voices unwanted. Because it was a famous jazz guitarist Les Paul introduces new solutions to make solid body guitars and not hollow.

In the end he made a successful solid body guitar and produce a good sound without feedback or the voices that are not desired. Moreover, adding to the body of his guitar pickup into two. In 1946 he brought his guitar to a Gibson but rejected as less interested consumers with solid body guitars. He was disappointed because he pioneered efforts ultimately failed.

Not long later a man named Leo Fender believe that the guitars are made by Les paul guitar solid body will be in great demand by consumers. Finally, in 1943 he made a solid body guitar made of wood Oak tree and rent them out to the musicians to get a lot of support. Finally, in 1949 Leo Fender to get success with solid body guitar model and get the award.

Seeing the success of Leo Fender with the solid body Gibson guitar company finally returned to see examples of Les Paul guitars and re mendisainnya. In 1952 it was decided to produce a solid body guitar and become an industry standard. Although his inspiration came from the Gibson Les Paul guitar, which we now know is named after the name of the company.

In 1961 Ted McCarty introduced the ES-335 a semi-hollow guitar that is a combination of guitars are hollow and solid body guitars. This guitar quickly became popular used by jazz guitarists such as BB King and Chuck Berry.

Gibson and Fender guitar maker is a company which had been instrumental in developing this instrument, especially the electric guitar with futuristic designs. Both have become standard guitars for musicians, as we now know the Gibson SG or Fender Stratocaster.Setelah two companies have succeeded in developing the electric guitar, then start popping up a lot of other companies that produce electric guitars until now
