The Toyota GT86 CS-R3 Rally Car

During these days, in the premises of Toyota Motorsport GmbH in Cologne working overtime to get ready Toyota GT86 CS-R3, the rear wheel drive car will land soon in the world of Rally. TMG intends to present its first prototype during the second half of August, so the approval process for the R3 Group will begin soon and the first tests.

This project is part of Toyota's will to bring the competition to their customers and return to a scenario in which reaped many successes in the past; remember, for example, that in 2012 we saw the birth of the Toyota Yaris R1A.

We are talking, as you have already guessed, a car derived from the Toyota GT-86. However, TMG has been working since October 2013 on the basis of an entirely new design to give life to the CS-R3. The soul of this vehicle shall drive 2-liter boxer from the GT-86 but conveniently studied and modified to overcome those offering 200 hp at shipment.

First prototype CS-R3 will box six-speed sequential gearbox and limited slip differential, and a review of the braking system of the GT-86 to make his life more bearable in high level competition. Based, of course, is included with the FIA, TMG has also prepared a safety cage and asked its suppliers suspension systems for asphalt and gravel, and the engine-ECU.
